1. How does the specific gauge selection (24, 26, and 29) impact the durability and performance of roofing and siding materials in different environmental conditions?
Gauge selection is based on roof spacing and slope. Different gauges of material will be used for different jobs.
2. Can you elaborate on the advantages of using North American-produced Galvalume steel compared to imported alternatives, particularly in terms of material quality and environmental sustainability?
Galvalume steel lasts very well in Manitoba’s harsh environments.
3. What are the critical considerations in your custom colour production process, and how do you ensure colour consistency and long-term fade resistance?
The colours produced are high-quality with a 40-year chalking warranty.
4. Describe the engineering challenges involved in designing custom trims like gable trim, J-trim, and ridge cap to ensure perfect fit and maximum weather protection.
With our 30-plus years of experience, we design trim for all situations.
5. How do your manufacturing techniques minimize material waste, and what specific steps do you take to ensure environmental responsibility in production?
All our material is calculated to reduce any waste and the little waste we do have all goes back as scrap metal for recycling.
6. What technological advancements in steel forming have you implemented in the last five years that have improved your product’s performance or manufacturing efficiency?
We have designed our own slitting line and roll formers to increase production.
7. What quality control measures do you have in place to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of your steel roofing and siding products?
High-quality steel is utilized with high-end paint that will last.
8. Explain the technical differences between smooth and textured finish options and how they impact thermal performance and aesthetic appeal.
Most smooth finishes have a higher gloss finish—Textured finishes offer a matte low gross finish that also is like a 3D effect. Both provide great thermal performance.
9. What factors do you consider when recommending specific panel types (T55/T75, IS-936, SSR-150) for different building structures?
Building size, roof pitch, and whether it’s a commercial or residential building determine the materials we use.
10. Discuss the corrosion resistance characteristics of your Galvalume steel and the protective mechanisms that extend the lifespan of roofing and siding materials.
We recommend Galvalume steel over traditional galvanized steel for Winnipeg because it’s better at handling moisture and temperature fluctuations than just zinc-coated steel. The paint we use is UV-resistant.
